Zero dB - Reconstruction

A 9 track broken beat album (1h 1m 7s) — released May 10th 2024 on Fluid Ounce

Zero dB are your unruly conductors for this symphonic saga. For many years now, have been shamelessly violating the international Nu-Jazz circuit, launching one quality remix after another. dB have been ripping tracks open, stripping them of their decency, re-furbishing them and re-crafting them into meticulous Re-constructions – nevertheless leaving their original architects imploding with delight. As curators of only cream of the crop tunes, with each production the duo paralyze us into a dumbfounded state of musical bliss. Like many, if you've been on board since the very first notes of their jazz-house classic 'Party Girl' then this is a ride for you. A simple wave of the magic Zero dB wand turns every pumpkin they touch into a shimmering dance-floor chariot.

But, now a moment is due, to reflect and re-gain contact with the ground – if only for health reasons. Here for the first time after guest spots on countless reputable compilations, is a tidy package of nine freshly polished Zero dB Reconstructions. You are now about to witness the strength of the Zero dB Hurricane, as it storms the globe recklessly punishing each track into down n' dirty club mayhem.

Notes of Caution: Each track has been re-mastered, re-polished, and re-funked specifically for your listening pleasure. Also included are two exclusive tracks unavailable anywhere else until now. Vinyl Addicts Be Warned.

Prepare to be hedonistically violated by the freakishly dirty sounds that are Zero dB!! -

Sun Ra // Satellites Are Spinning // Mo smog // Italy--------------- HQ of all things experimental and funky. Here we find a creation of a yet to be released, but by all means fiery future gem. Recruiting the talents of a mysterious Dj Hectic, also known as Gilles Peterson the trio have traveled down a dark alley where Psychedelic meets Jazz in a true fashion that Sun Ra would be proud of. Parents lock your children up!

Peace Orchestra // Henry // G-stone // Austria--------------Is there something in the water in Vienna that makes everyone so meticulous? Coming correct with a jazz whopper of a remix of Peace Orchestra aka Mr. Peter Kruder, dB twist and turn this piece through lush horns, grinding basslines, and sophisticated programming. Somehow your left, with your hands in your pants, wondering what to do next... Truby Trio // Galicia // Compost // Germany-------------

Hypnotized. That's one way to describe what you feel upon first listen. A clever re-working of this classic Truby Trio production, the lot were initially confused upon hearing the Zero dB take. As the track blasted along, the smiles grew bigger and bigger on their faces. We believe this effect will be contagious, wherever you listen to it, out in a sweaty club basement, or at home sweating in a basement. Now just try to relax…

John Kong & Moonstarr // Future vision // Fluid Ounce // UK / Canada --------------

Hip swiveling. Head nodding. Feet tapping. Then, Glancing over to the lady beside you to exchange a smile. Again, as the boys seem to effortlessly fuse jazz sensibilities with hazardous dance floor appeal, the listener is captivated first in the mind, then in the body, and finally in the soul.

Original Soulboy // Touch The Sun // Dadhouse // UK -----------

A tasty beat scrambled, bassline grinded, and funk chopped remix Omelet. A very limited initial pressing makes this rocker next to impossible to find. The exquisite mix mash bag that the boys have been known for is best captured as the, "…True Eclectic Electric Sounds of Zero dB" - Straight no Chaser.

Suba // Samba do Gringo Paulista // Crammed Disc // Belgium / Brazil -------------

Capturing an exhilarating zest for Brazilian life this track nods the deepest respects to Suba and his legacy. Gilles Peterson's Record of the year 2001 is only the tip of the iceberg for this global club anthem. With the first and only 12' pressing being long retired, copies are more than hard to come by. Zero dB magically exert the passion that boils in Brazilian blood, creating a timeless re-creation. So if this monstrous driving rack is not already in your box, it's time to come out of your cave. Pura Vida!

Interfearance // Xtradition // Ubiquity // USA-------------

Househeads Technozoids, and Nu Jazzers alike are kept smiling when this track rocks a system. Taking the latin- tinged elements from Interfearence and adding their own spicy dB ingredients, the end result is a monster of a club tune. Quality!

Grupo Batuque // e Ruim // Far Out // UK ----------------

Carnival. Futebol. Capoeira. Samba. Grupo Batuque! This down n' dirty twist of E Ruim puts you right in the bosom of a voluptuous Brazilian seductress during Carnival. The infectious vocals layered over the grinding baselines make this a heated affair indeed! Re-polished specifically for this album, the production has never sounded so good!

Arch 25 // Hangovers // Acme// UK ---------------

Nodding respect to a funky chunky monkey, this space elevator sci-fi extravaganza has been unreleased until now. Guaranteed to be a favourite of the more daring jockeys, this dubbed out affair will find many people scratching their heads, yet unrelentingly moving their bodies - Futuristic Flavour!

" It really is a case of every one's a winner!" – Straight No Chaser

If you need your musical palate pleasantly refreshed, this album is a good place to start. Straddling the worlds of broken beat, hip-hop, and house, with an underlying jazz sensibility, Zero dB creations are anything but predictable. You can be assured however; that they'll deliver a cool and clean sound, layered with signature bassline roars. Unsafe? Yes. Ass-cracking? Hell yeah. With never a dull moment, this album is a testament to the revolution of reconstructing as a stand-alone art form.
